Job summary

Veolia Basildon is recruiting for a Waste Driver role on a full-time basis. You will drive to planned collection points, move and empty waste containers, and perform daily vehicle checks. The job requires a Class 2 (Cat C) licence and previous experience in a similar industry.

You will work 48 hours per week with early starts and must be flexible for the third Saturday. Salary is £44,744.15 per year plus Veolia benefits and a weekly pay cycle, plus a daily meal allowance and a personal allowance

• Must hold a Class 2 (Cat C) licence.
• Experience in similar industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive to planned collection locations and move/empty bins.
• Lift bins of various weights and sizes.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks per operator handbook.
• Record information in onboard system and submit paperwork daily.
• Comply with traffic laws and maintain load security.
• Keep carriageway clean and clear spillages.

£5.00 Daily meal allowance

Single person allowance - Earn an extra £41.16 daily when you complete over 110 bins

Hours: 48 hours per week, early starts between 4am/6am

Monday to Friday with a requirement to work every 3rd Saturday

Some days you may be required to start later so you must be flexible with working hours

What you'll be doing

• Driving to planned collection locations and moving and emptying multiple waste containers
• Lifting bins of all weights and sizes
• Completing daily checks of the vehicle as per our driver operator handbook
• Ensuring all information is input into the onboard system and all paperwork is kept up to date and submitted daily
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including security and weight of loads
• Ensuring that the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up
