Job summary

Veolia in Cambridge is seeking a driver to join our team on a 48-hour week, starting at 4am, with weekend rota. Play a key role in collecting waste and operating a modern fleet from Cambridge CB4 0DN.

The role requires a Class 2 (Cat C) licence, strong time management, and teamwork to ensure smooth collections and compliance with safety rules. Veolia supports development and inclusive working conditions.

Qualifications

• Class 2 (Cat C) licence required.

Responsibilities

• Drive to planned collection locations and move/empty multiple waste containers.
• Lift bins of all weights and sizes.
• Complete daily vehicle checks per driver operator handbook.
• Record information in onboard system and submit paperwork daily.
• Comply with traffic laws and load security requirements.
• Keep carriageway clean and clean up spills.

Salary: £44,744.15 per annum plus Veolia benefits and weekly pay.

£5.00 Daily meal allowance

Single person allowance £41.16 per day - when you complete over 110 bins (allocated on trade / RCV routes only)

Hours: 48 hours per week, 4am starts Monday to Friday + weekend working rota

What you'll be doing;

• Driving to planned collection locations and moving and emptying multiple waste containers
• Lifting bins of all weights and sizes
• Completing daily checks of the vehicle as per our driver operator handbook
• Ensuring all information is input into the onboard system and all paperwork is kept up to date and submitted daily
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including security and weight of loads
• Ensuring that the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up
