Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd is seeking an experienced Planner to join our busy Social Housing / Property Services team in the UK. You will plan and coordinate electrical and gas repairs, servicing and maintenance works, ensuring efficient allocation and timely completion.

Ideal candidates will have a background in Social Housing or Facilities Management, with strong organisational and communication skills and experience scheduling for gas and/or electrical engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience within Social Housing, Property Services, Repairs & Maintenance or Facilities Management.
• Previous experience working as Planner, Repairs Planner, Scheduler or Coordinator.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule electrical and gas repairs, servicing and maintenance appointments.

• Manage engineers' diaries and optimise daily workloads and travel time.
• Monitor outstanding and overdue jobs, taking appropriate action to prevent delays.
• Liaise with engineers, supervisors, contractors, residents and internal teams to ensure works are completed efficiently.
• Arrange appointments with residents and ensure they are kept informed of any changes.
• Respond to urgent and emergency repair requests, prioritising jobs accordingly.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced

Planner to join a busy Social Housing / Property Services team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating electrical and gas repairs, servicing and maintenance works, ensuring jobs are allocated efficiently and completed within agreed timescales and in line with relevant compliance requirements.

This is a fast-paced role that would suit someone with previous experience within

Social Housing, Housing Maintenance, Repairs & Maintenance or a Facilities Management environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule electrical and gas repairs, servicing and maintenance appointments.
• Allocate jobs to engineers and operatives based on skills, qualifications, location and availability.
• Manage engineers' diaries and optimise daily workloads and travel time.
• Monitor outstanding and overdue jobs, taking appropriate action to prevent delays.

• Ensure all relevant records, job notes and documentation are maintained accurately.
• Support the wider Property Services team with general administration and coordination.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a

Planner, Repairs Planner, Scheduler or Coordinator.

• Experience within

Social Housing, Property Services, Repairs & Maintenance or Facilities Management.

• Experience planning works for

gas and/or electrical engineers.

• A strong understanding of responsive repairs and maintenance processes.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• The ability to prioritise a busy workload and manage changing priorities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good IT skills and experience using repairs, scheduling or housing management systems.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A customer-focused approach, particularly when dealing with residents.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
