Job summary

Manchester City Council is seeking a part-time, permanent care worker to deliver short-term reablement services in residents' own homes across Manchester. You will support individuals to regain independence, offering personal care, meal preparation and medication support within a safe, high-quality, person-centred framework.

The role requires DBS clearance, a willingness to obtain NVQ Level 3 in health and social care, and the ability to work a three-week rota that includes evenings, weekends

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available)
• DBS check required (Enhanced Disclosure)
• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it
• Willingness to travel across Manchester for the role
• Ability to work a 3-week rota including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays

Responsibilities

• Deliver a short-term reablement service to help individuals regain independence at home.
• Provide high-quality, person-centred support including personal care, meal preparation, and medication support.
• Collaborate with customers, colleagues and external partners; assess needs and monitor progress.
• Maintain safeguarding procedures, CQC standards and council policies; engage in continuous professional development.
