Job summary

Education Personnel are delighted to be working with a Derby-based secondary school to recruit a dedicated RE Teacher for immediate or January 2027 start. The role covers KS3 and KS4, with KS5 teaching available for experienced candidates, and focuses on ethics, beliefs and cultural diversity in the classroom.

The position requires QTS, strong classroom management and excellent communication, with a collaborative department that values SMSC and inclusive dialogue in a Derby setting.

Qualifications

• QTS is required for this role.
• Minimum 6 months of teaching experience in a UK secondary school.
• Experience delivering RE across KS3/KS4; KS5 teaching possible for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the KS3 & KS4 RE curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby.
• Plan, prepare, and assess Religious Studies and Ethics lessons in line with department policy
• Monitor student progress and facilitate respectful classroom debate
• Contribute to RE department improvement planning and SMSC development
• Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents’ evenings as required
