Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an experienced railway operations leader to provide strategic operational leadership across complex infrastructure and transformational change programmes.

You will assess operational feasibility, identify and mitigate risk, and collaborate with engineering, maintenance and project delivery teams to ensure safe, efficient and reliable railway operation while delivering business objectives and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in an operational role.
• Member of a relevant professional institution and/or educated to degree level.
• Detailed knowledge of operational standards and procedures.
• Knowledge of railway signalling principles and regulations.
• NEBOSH qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Confirming that each phase of a major project or programme is operationally feasible.
• Chairing stakeholder meetings on operational matters.
• Providing expert input and representing the Route at meetings.
• Leading on risk assessments to inform commissioning plans and staging strategies.
• Managing operational risk assessments and liaison activities.
