Job summary

Network Rail in the United Kingdom is seeking a proactive leader to manage a section of the rail network. You will lead a large maintenance team and coordinate in-house staff and contractors to deliver inspections, renewals and routine maintenance of diverse assets.

You will plan, inspect and implement important tactical works with a strong emphasis on safety. The role is operational with on-call and out-of-hours duties, and requires driving as needed.

Qualifications

• Hold or be working towards NVQ level 3 or 4 in a relevant subject.
• Experience in maintenance, inspection and renewals on railway assets.
• Ability to manage budgets and deliver work to cost targets.
• Knowledge of safe working practices and safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a maintenance team and contractors to deliver inspections, renewals and maintenance of railway assets.
• Plan, inspect and implement tactical works on a section of the rail network.
• Direct the work of teams to meet performance, cost and quality targets.
• Be available for on-call and out-of-hours duties as required.
