Job summary

GTR and Network Rail Sussex seek an experienced Network Operations Director to integrate railway operations across both organisations. You will drive resilience, safety and performance while leading approximately 245 colleagues and delivering coordinated railway operations.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will shape joint strategies, manage a £16m budget, and engage regulators and government partners to enhance reliability and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experienced in safety-critical, customer-focused environments.
• Proven track record leading complex, 24/7 operations.
• Strong ability to manage disruption, recovery and resilience planning.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement with regulators, partners and government.

Responsibilities

• Lead the joint Network Operations function across GTR and Network Rail Sussex.
• Drive operational performance, disruption management and service recovery.
• Develop and implement joint operational strategies and resilience plans.
• Build and develop a high-performing, inclusive culture across ~245 colleagues.
