Arup's Safety Risk and Reliability team is seeking an Associate, Safety Risk & System Assurance - Rail to lead projects across the rail lifecycle, delivering safety assurance for train control, infrastructure, and operations. You will shape safety strategy, mentor colleagues, and maintain rigorous standards while enabling innovative, proportionate assurance.

This role offers opportunities to work with international clients and influence major rail programmes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading rail safety and risk programmes.
• Proven ability to develop safety cases and safety justifications.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with clients and regulators.
• Experience working with ISA/AsBo interfaces.

Responsabilités

• Lead safety assurance on rail projects or major work packages.
• Manage hazard identification, analysis and assurance planning across lifecycle stages.
• Apply and guide use of safety analysis techniques (HAZID, HAZOP, FMECA, FTA).
• Engage with ISA/AsBo, plan evidence and manage independent assurance interfaces.
• Mentor and develop capability within the team and support cross‑rail capabilities.
