Job summary

Advance Training & Recruitment Services is seeking a Track Maintenance Team Leader with COSS expertise in Reading and surrounding routes. You will lead track maintenance teams, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to Network Rail standards while coordinating with other disciplines.

The role requires hands-on leadership, practical railway maintenance knowledge, and the ability to brief staff on Safe Work Packs and risk controls. Experience with COSS and PTS is essential.

Qualifications

• COSS and PTS current and valid.
• Substantial track maintenance experience.
• Ability to work safely on or near the railway.
• Knowledge of Network Rail safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise track maintenance teams during planned and reactive works.
• Act as Controller of Site Safety (COSS) when required.
• Establish and maintain safe systems of work within COSS limits.
• Deliver clear safety briefings before works commence.
• Ensure staff understand Safe Work Pack, risks and site controls.
• Carry out dynamic risk assessments and adapt to site conditions.
• Ensure works align with Network Rail standards and methods.
