Job summary

Henry Blue is seeking a Rail Engineering (Track) Trainer in Mansfield. You will deliver and assess vocational rail programmes, helping learners develop practical skills and technical knowledge. Training and assessor qualifications can be pursued, with a strong focus on mentoring and portfolio development.

Salary ranges £30,717–£32,500 depending on experience, with 39 days leave, a pension plan and ongoing professional development opportunities. Prior FE teaching experience is not essential.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant Rail discipline.
  • Recent hands‑on experience within the rail industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge within your area of rail.
  • Maths & English to Level 2.
  • Good communication skills and confidence supporting learners.
  • An A1/assessor qualification and Level 4 teaching qualification would be beneficial, but candidates can work towards these.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and assess rail training, working with groups and individual learners.
  • Support learners with portfolios, monitor progress and help them achieve required industry standards.
  • Role involves training, assessment and learner support with opportunities to continue developing teaching and assessing qualifications.

Rail Engineering (Track) Trainer

Are you an experienced Rail professional looking to move into training, or an existing Rail Trainer looking for your next role?

Location: Mansfield / Nottinghamshire

Salary: £30,000 – £32,500 depending on experience

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

We are recruiting for a Rail Trainer to deliver and assess vocational rail programmes, supporting learners with both their practical skills and technical knowledge.

Previous FE teaching experience isn't essential.

Teaching and assessor qualifications can be worked towards.

The Role

You’ll deliver and assess rail training, working with groups and individual learners. You’ll support learners with their portfolios, monitor their progress and help them achieve the required industry standards.

The role will involve a mixture of training, assessment and learner support, with the opportunity to continue developing your own teaching and assessing qualifications.

What We're Looking For
  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant Rail discipline
