Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking an experienced Railway Telecoms Engineer to support station-based rail projects across West Yorkshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.

The role covers telecoms installations, testing and commissioning, with fibre optic and copper cabling, and maintenance of SISS assets. Candidates should hold PTS with OLEC 1, ECS/CSCS cards, and a full UK driving licence; rail-specific training can be provided. This is a contract role with exposure to multiple high-profile schemes.

Qualifications

• PTS certification with OLEC 1 is required.
• ECS or CSCS card is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installation, testing, and commissioning of telecoms systems.
• Working with fibre optic and copper cabling infrastructure.
• Installation and maintenance of SISS assets.
• Carrying out works safely in line with rail standards.
• Supporting project delivery across multiple stations.

Railway Telecoms Engineer

Rate: £300 a day
Type: Contract

We are currently recruiting for experienced Railway Telecoms Engineers to work on a variety of station-based rail infrastructure projects across West Yorkshire, Merseyside, and Greater Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team delivering telecoms installations, testing, and commissioning activities on major rail projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, testing, and commissioning of telecoms systems.
• Working with both fibre optic and copper cabling infrastructure.
• Installation and maintenance of SISS (Station Information and Security Systems) assets.
• Carrying out works safely in accordance with rail industry standards and procedures.
• Supporting project delivery across multiple station and rail environments.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience installing, testing, and commissioning telecoms systems.
• Experience with fibre optic, copper, and SISS assets.
• Valid PTS certification with OLEC 1 qualification.
• Valid ECS or CSCS card.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Training Opportunities

Candidates with strong telecoms experience who may require additional rail-specific competencies will be considered, as further rail training can be provided for the right individual.
