Job summary

Alstom in Barton-under-Needwood is seeking an engineer to maintain and inspect the 22X fleet, ensuring safety and performance standards are met onsite. You will work with maintenance, diagnostics, and compliance teams, interpreting drawings and using root-cause analysis to fix faults.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in Rolling Stock Engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with condition monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out component replacements and system adjustments.
• Ensuring the 22X fleet meets operational and safety performance standards.
• Acting as an Authorised Person in maintenance and repair activities.
• Conducting detailed inspections of train systems, including electrical, mechanical, and software-based systems.
• Identifying and rectifying faults using root cause analysis techniques.
• Recording defects and corrective actions in maintenance management systems.
• Interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.
• Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
