Job summary

WSP in the United Kingdom is seeking a systems engineering professional to support major rail infrastructure programmes and lead project tasks within a consultancy environment.

You will apply MBSE and DOORS, mentor early career colleagues, and develop solutions that reduce risk while adding value across lifecycle stages. The role offers hybrid working, professional development, and chartership support.

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Chartered status with a relevant professional body, or near Chartered status.
• Experience delivering systems integration in rail environments.
• Experience applying systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS) and MBSE techniques.
• Experience defining approaches to systems engineering on projects.

Responsibilities

• Supporting project teams to solve complex integration problems for clients on major infrastructure programmes.
• Leading tasks within a project environment and mentoring other resources on larger projects.
• Demonstrating willingness to learn from clients and colleagues, with mentoring for Early Career Professionals.
• Applying pragmatic systems thinking and collaborative behaviours on big systems engineering projects.
• Supporting interval team development activities focused on business and/or technical development.
• Gaining commercial responsibility of your project and awareness of the wider business in a consultancy environment.
• Proactively seeking knowledge to determine the right approach to problems considering constraints.
