Job summary

Hitachi Rail Gts Uk Limited is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, develop and maintain rail systems and solutions for bids and projects across the UK. Hybrid role with a minimum of two days per week from our offices in London, Birmingham or Cheadle, depending on project needs.

You will work with cross-functional teams, translate requirements into technical specifications, and ensure scalability, testability and performance of products.

Qualifications

• Experience in Systems development and understanding of systems engineering principles.
• Experience in technical disciplines translatable to rail domain.
• Ability to use design tools to produce complex designs.
• Experience in engineering delivery methodologies.
• Understanding of configuration control and requirements management.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers, designers, customers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks and technical debt.
• Work with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure successful delivery.
• Follow project delivery processes and use defined tools and plans.
• Design and develop solutions using industry best practice.
• Generate system specifications and interface designs.
• Produce test plans and scripts in collaboration with IVVQ engineers.
