Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is seeking a Revenue Protection Officer in Sheffield. The role offers 40 hours per week with a mix of early and late shifts, paying £13.58 per hour. Training is provided, and you will join a diverse team dedicated to safeguarding travel.

The position emphasizes customer service, integrity, and teamwork within rail environments. Applicants with prior customer-facing experience are preferred, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are equally valued.

Responsibilities

• Offer guidance and information as first point of contact for customers.
• Issue penalty fares for travellers without valid travel.
• Manage and control electronic ticket gates (training provided).
• Assist passengers needing extra support, guidance or advice.
• Be a smart, approachable company representative.
• Manage and respond to incidents calmly and effectively.
• Build strong relationships within a supportive, professional team.
• Attend court as required to support prosecutions for travel without payment.
• Maintain gate ratios to keep gates operational, adjusting flows at peak times.
• Assist customers with gate difficulties, using discretion.
• Work under the direction of the Station Supervisor/Manager.
