Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a P6 Project Planner to develop and manage integrated schedules for rail and major infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, contractors and clients to ensure timely delivery and alignment with baselines.

You will produce look-ahead programmes, monitor progress and forecast outcomes, while supporting schedule risk assessment and reporting standards across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in project planning and scheduling within major capital projects, infrastructure, construction, engineering, energy, rail, utilities or related sector
• Advanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6, including WBS, logic-linked activities, milestones, constraints and baselines
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle delivery, critical-path analysis, progress measurement, forecasting, schedule optimization and change control
• Ability to integrate schedules across multiple disciplines, contractors and suppliers and assess impacts from changes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent data quality and forecast reliability
• Experience producing look-ahead programmes, variance analysis, dashboards and KPI information
• Strong Excel skills and ability to communicate schedule information clearly in reports/presentations
• Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills to facilitate planning meetings

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and monitor integrated project schedules using Primavera P6
• Produce look-ahead programmes, schedule variance analysis and KPI dashboards
• Support earned value management and schedule risk assessment
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, contractors and clients
• Present schedule updates and recovery plans at planning meetings
