AECOM Infrastructure and Environment UK Limited in Swindon is seeking a Senior Rail Project Manager to lead client-facing delivery within our South Rail Systems Alliance portfolio.

The role focuses on rail systems with growing civils integration, travel to Cardiff and Bristol, and managing multidisciplinary teams across Swindon, Bristol, and Cardiff to meet safety, cost, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering complex rail projects as PM or Senior PM.
• Experience with client-facing leadership in rail projects.
• Experience delivering rail systems with civils interfaces.
• Strong programme controls, governance, and reporting.
• Willingness to travel between Swindon, Cardiff and Bristol and attend in-person meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex rail systems projects, with growing civils integration, ensuring outcomes meet client requirements, safety standards, cost targets, and schedule commitments.
• Serve as a trusted, client-facing partner to build confidence, support co-located working in Cardiff for Burns Station, and enable future pipeline growth.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across locations to drive consistent performance and governance.
• Act as the primary client interface, building strong relationships and trust through proactive communication and visible leadership.
• Own integrated programme plans across rail systems and emerging civils scopes; manage baselines, risks, issues, and change.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams across Swindon, Bristol (COLAS), and Cardiff, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
• Coordinate with Enterprise Capabilities in India and project controls teams to expand support and strengthen delivery capability across the Burns programme and wider SRSA portfolio
