Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex rail and infrastructure projects. You will manage scope, schedule and budget while coordinating internal and external teams, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, risk control and a proactive, collaborative approach. APM/NEC6 would be advantageous, with a focus on delivering high-quality transport solutions.

Qualifications

• APM chartership required or willingness to work towards.
• NEC4 PM Accrediation willingness to work towards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in all formats.
• Analytical thinking with logical problem-solving.
• Strong presentation, facilitation and negotiation skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
• Knowledge of risk and issue management, finance, contract and cost control.
• Understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile) and portfolio management.
• Commercial and contractual understanding across construction contracts.
• Familiarity with rail/infrastructure regulations.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven track record in resource coordination, financial control, forecasting, risk escalation and change management.
• Leading project meetings and stakeholder consultations.
• APM membership or equivalent experience.
• Ongoing CPD and willingness to undertake training.
• Proficient use of MS Office, SharePoint, Projectwise and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management and delivery of projects to meet scope, schedule, budget and quality targets.
• Prepare and adhere to Project Execution Plans and ensure compliance with processes (PDM, BMS).
• Apply change and resource management; resolve conflicts as needed.
• Monitor and report project performance, budgets and forecasts; manage cash flow and billing.
• Lead internal and external project meetings; maintain client and team communications.
• Identify and resolve delivery issues; escalate risks and priorities.
• Enforce safety, environmental and CDM regulations across projects.
• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, respect and empowerment.
