Job summary

CAF is seeking an Overhaul Technician in the UK to disassemble, inspect, repair and assemble bogies and wheelsets. You will perform electrical/pneumatic work, support inspections, and maintain safety and quality on all components.

You will work with the production team to meet delivery targets while adhering to 5S and lean practices. A minimum NVQ3 in mechanical/electrical is required, with rail or heavy engineering experience preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or above in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
• Proven experience in heavy engineering, rail, or similar precision environments.
• Hands-on overhaul, assembly and testing of large components.
• Competent with lifting equipment including cranes and presses.
• Ability to read drawings and follow technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair and assemble bogies and wheelsets.
• Perform basic electrical/pneumatic disconnections and testing.
• Support non-destructive inspections and ensure safety and quality.
• Work with the production team to hit delivery and quality targets.
• Maintain 5S and clean documentation for traceability.
