Job summary

Vital is looking for a proactive and organised Stores Coordinator to support our Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) operations in Manchester. This role ensures critical materials, tools and plant are effectively managed to support safe and efficient rail projects across the region.

The successful candidate will maintain stock accuracy, coordinate movement of materials, and ensure operational teams have the equipment required to deliver projects on time and safely, in line with company procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in Stores, Warehouse, Logistics, Materials Coordinator or Inventory Control roles.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage receipt, storage, issue and distribution of OLE materials, tools and equipment.
• Maintain accurate stock records and inventories.
• Carry out regular stock checks and cycle counts.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment.
• Ensure materials are stored, handled and distributed per procedures.
• Coordinate deliveries and collections with suppliers, depots and project teams.
• Process delivery notes, goods received docs and stock transactions.
• Support compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Assist with depot organisation and housekeeping for a safe workplace.
• Liaise with project and site teams to meet operational requirements.
