Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the technical delivery of a diverse portfolio of rail projects in the UK and abroad. You will direct multi-disciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and promote a strong safety culture across delivery teams.

Based in our UK city-centre offices, you will mentor engineers, oversee design coordination, and support the full lifecycle from feasibility to implementation, while collaborating with Project and Design Managers to ensure

Qualifications

Proven track record delivering multi-disciplinary projects as an Engineering Manager.
Engineering specialism in railway design and delivery.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations (CSM, CDM) and safe-by-design practices.
Ability to manage multiple workstreams and align with client expectations.
Experience mentoring and developing staff in engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Lead multi-disciplinary technical teams across rail projects.
Manage client and stakeholder relationships to achieve project outcomes.
Set and promote health, safety and welfare on projects.
Lead on development and management of client requirements and assurance outputs.
Oversee design coordination activities and promote digitalisation to aid delivery.
Collaborate with Project and Design Managers to ensure technical delivery.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to aspiring engineering managers.
