Job summary

SYSTRA in London is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a growing UK engineering team on rail and multi-discipline projects. You will ensure technical assurance, design integrity and budget adherence while guiding staff and coordinating with clients and stakeholders.

The role demands leadership, strong communication and a proactive approach to delivering compliant, value-for-money solutions across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in a design management role involving engagement with stakeholders on design, including interfacing designers, asset owners / operators and subcontractor designers.
• Experience on civil engineering or building projects in the UK with railway system interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Produce and manage the Engineering Management Plan for allocated projects.
• Implement systems and procedures to maintain cost-effective, high quality, safe design practices.
• Assess and monitor the competence of Engineers and provide guidance.
• Apply engineering controls and ensure design contracts reference appropriate standards.
• Maintain IDC process and chair design integration reviews.
• Manage Engineering schedules and deliverables.
• Review designs, calculations and drawings; review reports and tenders.
• Ensure CDM compliance and supervise team members.
