Job summary

Arup’s North Rail team in the UK is seeking a Rail Civils Engineer to help deliver complex rail projects. You will contribute to the development and delivery of civil engineering solutions across a varied portfolio, interpreting client requirements, performing calculations and producing layouts, reports and documentation.

You will work with colleagues from across Arup’s rail disciplines to ensure designs are coordinated throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience producing and checking rail civils feasibility, scheme and detailed designs.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with foundation in technical design.
• Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Experience with Bentley MicroStation and ProjectWise in design environments.
• Knowledge of NR standards, RSSB RIS, CDM/CSM requirements and engineering judgement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver civil engineering designs for rail projects across multidisciplinary teams.
• Interpret client requirements and develop design options, calculations and reports.
• Produce engineering layouts, drawings and project documentation.
• Coordinate with colleagues across rail disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
• Contribute to design management and knowledge sharing within the team.
