Job summary

Arup's Birmingham office is seeking a Civil Engineer with transport infrastructure experience to join our multidisciplinary rail team. You will contribute civil design and technical analysis across varied railway projects and collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality outputs on schedule.

You will develop engineering layouts, perform calculations, and prepare reports while expanding your knowledge in rail systems and design coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in transport infrastructure design and assessment.
• Ability to prepare clear design calculations and technical reports.
• Collaborative working across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and detailed engineering layouts and calculations.
• Develop and assess design options and produce technical studies and reports.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver coordinated design solutions.
