Job summary

Jungheinrich is seeking a Site Engineer to support Tesco, Doncaster, with on-site preventative maintenance and repair of materials handling equipment. You will complete service reports, manage parts stock, and liaise with the after-sales team to ensure timely information for customers.

The ideal candidate has mechanical/electrical bias, a clean licence, and prior experience in customer-facing roles. 40-hour week with rotating shifts; willingness to work outside normal hours is required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical biased engineers with maintenance/service background.
• Clean driving licence and a good level of education.
• Experience in a customer facing environment and ability to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance of materials handling and ancillary equipment on site.
• Repair of materials handling and ancillary equipment as needed.
• Accurately complete service reports and timesheets.
• Manage and control parts stock to minimise downtime.
• Build customer relationships through effective communication and meet contractual obligations.
• Coordinate with after-sales to provide accurate repair times and ETAs.
• Identify and communicate chargeable follow-up work to customers promptly.
• Adhere to all health & safety procedures and company policies.
• Act as a Jungheinrich ambassador and identify sales leads for equipment and after-sales products.

Reports to: Area Service Manager

Department: Customer Service

Location: Tesco, Doncaster

Role Purpose:

To assist the Area Service Manager by ensuring that defined site performance goals and standards are being met on their site.

Repair and preventative maintenance of materials handling and ancillary equipment

Role Responsibilities:

• Preventative maintenance of materials handling and ancillary equipment
• Repair of materials handling and ancillary equipment
• Accurately complete service reports and time sheets
• Manage and control parts stock
• Build customer relationships through good levels of communication, ensuring customer expectations are met in line with contractual obligations
• Close liaison with the after sales office to ensure accurate information for customers in regards to repair times and estimated times of arrival
• Optimise external revenue by ensuring chargeable follow up work identified is communicated to the Customer and completed in a timely manner
• Ensure all company and customer health and safety procedures are met
• Identify sales leads for the Jungheinrich range of equipment and After Sales products
• Act as a Company Ambassador at all times

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Area Service Manager such as call out and working outside of normal working hours

Working Hours:

• 40 hours per week
• Roating shifts between 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm

Person Specification:

We are looking for mechanically and electrical biased engineers from any type of maintenance / service background specifically general automotive technicians, HGV, mobile plant, forklift, or ex forces military vehicle engineers.

The ideal candidate will hold a clean driving license and have a good level of education. They will also have experience of working in a customer facing environment and be used to working unsupervised.
