Job summary

Stonbury is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our Commercial team. You’ll manage commercial duties on construction contracts, from pre-construction through final account, pricing from first principles and negotiating with clients.

We require a related degree and IT prowess, including MS Excel, with experience on NEC/JCT/FIDIC contracts. A full driving licence is essential. We offer ongoing training, a company car or £6k car allowance, and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Estimating or Quantity Surveying.
• Experience pricing works from first principles.
• Experience on NEC/JCT/FIDIC or bespoke framework agreements.
• Strong IT skills, in particular MS Excel.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform all commercial management duties on construction contracts from Pre-construction through to Final Account and Certificate.
• Carry out thorough financial negotiations to secure the client.
• Work with the project delivery team to prepare a realistic budget for schemes to maximise revenue, profit and reputation.
• Advise on commercial matters and implications in planning to ensure efficient works.
• Prepare labour pricing schedules for PayGo pricing and for subcontractors.
• Submit and agree monthly interim valuations and final accounts for invoicing and payments.
• Manage change and submit early warning notices and compensation events under NEC and other contracts.
