Job summary

Stonbury Limited is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our Commercial team in Gloucester, UK. You will manage commercial activities on water, wastewater and environment projects from pre-construction to final accounts, negotiating budgets and prices to maximise revenue and protect profit.

You will prepare valuations, handle change events, and ensure timely invoicing while maintaining strong cash collection and risk management.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, construction related discipline, or significant work experience.
• Experience of pricing works from first principles.
• Ability to work on contracts using NEC, JCT, FIDIC or bespoke Framework Agreements.
• Strong IT skills, in particular MS Excel.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform commercial management duties on construction contracts from Pre-construction through Final Account.
• Prepare budgets, price schemes to maximise revenue and protect profit.
• Advise on commercial matters in planning to ensure efficiency.
• Prepare labour pricing for PayGo and for subcontractors.
• Submit monthly interim valuations and final accounts for timely cash flow.
• Manage change and early warnings under NEC and other contracts.
• Compile monthly reconciliations and WIP for management accounts.
• Review aged debt and manage retentions to secure cash.
