Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd. is seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to join their Didcot team. You will own the tendering and commercial process from start to finish, pricing domestic and commercial projects and working closely with Directors, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

The role is office-based, offering involvement in all aspects of project pricing, cost management, and profit monitoring to support growing, family-run construction activities.

Qualifications

• Proven Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry.
• Ability to independently price and tender projects.
• Strong understanding of domestic and commercial construction.
• Experience working directly with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Producing accurate tenders and estimates for domestic and commercial construction projects.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Sourcing and negotiating quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Preparing budgets and cost plans.
• Monitoring project costs and profitability.
• Managing variations and additional works.
• Preparing subcontract packages and procurement schedules.
• Liaising directly with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Providing commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Managing multiple tenders and live projects simultaneously.
