Job summary

RGB Recruitment in Plymouth is seeking a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established construction team. You will drive budgeting, procurement, cost management, and reporting across Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Retail and Industrial projects.

You will build strong relationships with the supply chain, liaise with clients and site teams, and oversee contractual matters while contributing to sustainability and value engineering initiatives on diverse projects in the region.

Qualifications

• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification (degree or equivalent).
• Membership or working towards RICS (or similar).
• Knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts and construction legislation.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical reporting skills.
• Understanding of sustainable procurement and social value frameworks.
• Familiarity with ISO-certified management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead on budgeting, procurement, and cost management across construction projects.
• Build and manage relationships within a robust supply chain.
• Prepare financial reports and track project performance, including CVRs.
• Support sustainability and social value initiatives, including alignment with frameworks.
• Liaise with clients, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Provide oversight on contractual matters and assist with dispute resolution when required.
