Job summary

RGB Recruitment is partnering with a well-established regional contractor in Exeter to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a permanent role. You will take commercial control over a portfolio of construction and refurbishment schemes across the Southwest, working closely with senior management.

The role demands strong procurement, cost management and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, while mentoring junior members of the commercial team and maintaining excellent client

Qualifications

• Proven background in the construction industry.
• Experience managing commercial aspects of multiple projects.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, subcontract management, valuations and final accounts.
• Ability to confidently manage project costs and produce accurate forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Taking commercial responsibility for multiple construction and refurbishment projects.
• Managing projects from procurement through to final account.
• Reviewing and administering contractual documentation and commercial terms.
• Procuring, negotiating and managing subcontractors and suppliers.
• Preparing and agreeing client valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Monitoring project costs, cash flow, risks and commercial opportunities.
• Producing accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts through to completion.
• Supporting operational teams with commercial and financial reporting.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.
• Providing support and guidance to junior members of the commercial team.
• Assisting with estimating or wider pre-construction activities where required.
