Job summary

Rogers McHugh is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial aspects of residential infrastructure projects ranging £1m to £20m. This is an office-based role with regular site visits and a 5-day in-office/site pattern, requiring 2–3 years’ experience in quantity surveying.

The role involves cost control, valuations, and reporting across multiple projects, liaising with site teams and subcontractors, and maintaining cost tracking in Excel.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
• Residential housing experience, ideally groundworks or civils.
• Strong Excel skills and good commercial awareness.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence (due to site visits).

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of groundworks, civils and drainage packages.
• Cost control, valuations and financial reporting across multiple projects.
• Preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts.
• Managing variations and change control.
• Liaising with site teams and subcontractors.
• Supporting procurement and subcontract management.
• Reporting commercial performance to the Commercial Manager.
• Maintaining accurate cost tracking, primarily using Excel.
