Job summary

Civil Works Alliance is seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of major civil engineering works for Sizewell C. You will work with project teams, subcontractors and clients to keep costs in check and ensure value for money across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of standard forms of contract, including NEC.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience managing costs, valuations, variations and reporting.
• Membership of, or working towards membership of, RICS, CIOB or a similar professional body is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Managing subcontractor accounts and commercial administration.
• Preparing and assessing valuations, variations and compensation events.
• Supporting procurement activities and tender evaluations.
• Monitoring project costs, forecasts and commercial performance.
• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and cost reconciliations.
• Supporting contract management in line with project procedures and governance.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
• Building strong relationships with internal teams, clients and suppliers.
