Job summary

VolkerStevin Energy, part of VolkerWessels UK, is hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial and contractual matters on the Sizewell C site. Reporting to the Project Manager on site, you will manage surveyors and drive procurement, cash flow, and cost forecasting to maximise value.

You will ensure subcontract paperwork aligns with policy, protect contractual positions, and develop the on-site commercial team.

Qualifications

• Accredited course by RICS, CIOB or ICES.
• A numerate/technical degree is advantageous.
• HND subjects include building/construction, urban and land studies, civil/structural engineering.
• Adequate experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective cost management through forecasting and cost/value reporting.
• Lead procurement to maximise profit and timely subcontract placement.
• Monitor and maximise cash flow.
• Support and train site team on commercial matters.
• Mentor surveyors within the project team.
• Advise on contractual requirements and protect commercial position.
• Ensure professional conduct and adherence to company standards.
• Monitor main contract payments.

Education

RICS/CIOB/ICES accreditation

Numerical/technical degree advantageous
