Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager to join its expanding team in the built environment. You will handle cost management across the project lifecycle, liaising with clients, contractors and consultants to deliver accurate cost data and robust commercial decision-making.

You will work with senior professionals, progress toward Senior Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager, and benefit from APC support, mentoring, and a clear progression pathway in a consultancy

Qualifications

• Experience delivering quantity surveying or cost management services within a consultancy or client-side environment.
• Experience across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, education, residential, public sector or mixed-use developments.
• Good understanding of pre-contract and post-contract cost management.
• Experience preparing cost plans, estimates, tender docs and commercial reports.
• Working knowledge of UK contracts (JCT/NEC).
• Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate cost information clearly to stakeholders.
• Proactive and organized with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cost management services from feasibility through to final accounts.
• Prepare cost plans, cash flows, cost reports and benchmarking.
• Produce bills of quantities, schedules of work, tender docs and contract docs.
• Support procurement strategies, tender processes and contractor recommendations.
• Manage project costs during construction including valuations, forecasting and change control.
• Monitor budgets, identify cost risks and opportunities, implement mitigations.
• Provide commercial advice and support contract administration under JCT/ NEC.
• Attend meetings and provide clear commercial updates.
