Job summary

United Infrastructure Power T&D Limited in the Highlands is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Power Transmission & Distribution unit on a permanent, full-time basis.

You will own key commercial activities across the project lifecycle, administer NEC3 contracts, manage payments and forecasts, support risk and change reporting, and travel to sites as required.

This role offers a 40-hour week and opportunities to contribute to major infrastructure delivery for a strategic customer.

Qualifications

• BSc in Quantity Surveying, Business or related commercial discipline.
• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role.
• Experience working with NEC3 contracts.
• Previous experience within civils or construction is desirable.
• Strong understanding of subcontractor and contract management.
• Good knowledge of applications for payment, forecasting, variations and commercial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a project team.
• Flexible approach to work and travel as required.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Contract administration in line with NEC3, including Options A, B, C and E.
• Support subcontractor negotiations and ongoing contract management.
• Prepare and manage applications for payment for both clients and subcontractors.
• Contribute to forecasting and performance across client and subcontractor accounts.
• Contribute to the identification and mitigation of day-to-day commercial risks and opportunities.
• Undertake site visits to support subcontractor assessments.
• Identify, notify and ensure effective administration of compensation events and variations.
• Contribute to Cost to Complete forecasts.
• Support the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyors in ensuring visibility of the project’s commercial position.
• Contribute to budget, cost and change reporting.
• Contribute to Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR).
• Contribute to Earned Value Analysis reports.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
