Job summary

United Infrastructure Ltd in Alness seeks a Quantity Surveyor to manage the civils commercial administration on a major construction project. You will work with the client and subcontractor teams to control costs, contracts and payments across the Design and Construction phases.

The role focuses on NEC3 contract administration, forecasting, CVR and earned value reporting, with site involvement and travel as required to support project delivery in the Highlands region.

Qualifications

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or related commercial discipline.
• Experience in quantity surveying or commercial role.
• Experience with NEC3 contracts.
• Civils/construction experience desirable.
• Strong subcontractor and contract management skills.
• Proficient with payment applications, forecasting, variations and reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Able to work to tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence and willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Contract administration in line with NEC3, including Options A, B, C and E.
• Support subcontractor negotiations and ongoing contract management.
• Prepare and manage applications for payment for both clients and subcontractors.
• Contribute to forecasting and performance across client and subcontractor accounts.
• Identify and mitigate / optimise day-to-day commercial and project risks and opportunities.
• Undertake site visits to support subcontractor assessments.
• Identify, notify and ensure effective administration of compensation events and variations in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of accurate Cost to Complete forecasts.
• Support the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyors in ensuring the business has clear and continuous visibility of the project’s commercial position.
• Contribute to accurate and timely budget, cost and change reporting.
• Contribute to Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR).
• Contribute to the production of Earned Value Analysis reports.
• Maintain accurate and robust commercial records and project documentation.
