Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor for a full‑time, permanent role in Worksop. The successful candidate will work within the commercial team, handling cost estimates, budgets, tender documentation, and valuation of completed works on a varied portfolio of construction projects.

You will develop through exposure to all aspects of the commercial function, supporting senior team members and advancing to greater responsibility as experience grows.

Qualifications

  • A degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline, or be working towards one.
  • Industry experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • A good understanding of construction and commercial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation.
  • Measurement and valuation of completed works.
  • Preparing applications for payment and final accounts.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations and payments.
  • Monitor project costs and contribute to financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
  • Attend site visits and project meetings when required.
  • Support senior members of the commercial team with day‑to‑day quantity surveying activities.
  • Ensure commercial processes comply with contractual requirements and company procedures.
  • Early warning notices and compensation events.
  • Cost value reconciliations, allocations and investigation work.
  • Prepare and present weekly budgets and cost value reconciliations.
  • Update and monitor commercial action trackers.
  • Complete daily business reconciliations.

Quantity Surveyor

An established and growing construction business is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to build a long-term career in quantity surveying, working alongside experienced professionals on a varied portfolio of construction projects.

About You

To be successful in this Quantity Surveyor role, you will ideally have:

  • A degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline, or be working towards one.
  • Industry experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • A good understanding of construction and commercial processes.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good time management and organisational abilities.
  • Knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
