Job summary

Abatec Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join a leading utilities organisation delivering specialist water and wastewater projects.

You will take commercial responsibility of a programme of works across a framework of sewer rehabilitation and asset management schemes, including repairing or upgrading sewer pipes and related infrastructure to restore structural integrity, improve performance, and prevent failures such as overflows, backups, or flooding.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC contracts and change control processes.
• Strong cost reporting and forecasting abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Working within a busy Commercial team, you'll take commercial responsibility of a programme of works across a framework of sewer rehabilitation and asset management schemes to include repairing or upgrading existing sewer pipes and related infrastructure to restore structural integrity, improve performance, and prevent failures such as overflows, backups, or flooding.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Managing commercial and contractual responsibilities across multiple projects
• NEC contract administration and change management
• Variations, payment applications and final accounts
• Cost reporting, forecasting and risk management
• Tender analysis and procurement support
• Managing subcontractor and supplier relationships
• Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and the wider delivery team

We're looking for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with:

• Previous experience in infrastructure, utilities or water
• Strong NEC contract experience
• Experience managing variations, risk and change
• Strong cost reporting and forecasting skills
• Experience with final accounts and commercial negotiationsThe ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
