Lemon Drizzle Recruitment seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a North East main contracting role. You will own multiple projects end-to-end, from procurement to final account, with autonomy and support from a larger group.

Ideal candidates will have a main contracting background, experience in new build and refurbishment, and be commercially minded, organized, and collaborative within a close-knit team.

Quantity Surveyor Main Contracting

North East

Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is working with an established North East Main Contractor, part of a successful and diverse wider construction group, to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor.

This is a great opportunity for a QS who enjoys having ownership of their own projects and is confident managing the full commercial process from procurement right through to final account.

The business delivers projects from end to end, including both new build and refurbishment schemes across the retail, hospitality, education, commercial and industrial sectors, alongside smaller-value civil engineering projects.

You ll be joining a small, friendly and dynamic team, where you ll have plenty of autonomy but still benefit from the support, resources and long-term stability that comes with being part of a much wider group.

The Role

You ll work as a stand-alone Quantity Surveyor, commercially managing multiple projects at any one time and taking responsibility for:

• Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers
• Preparing and issuing subcontract orders
• Managing applications for payment and valuations
• Cost forecasting and budget management
• Preparing and maintaining CVRs
• Identifying, pricing and managing variations
• Monitoring project costs, margins and commercial risk

About You

I m looking for an experienced QS who is comfortable running their own workload independently and managing multiple projects without needing lots of day-to-day supervision.

You ll ideally come from a main contracting background, with experience across new build and/or refurbishment projects. Experience of smaller civils schemes would also be beneficial but isn t essential.

More importantly, you ll be commercially switched on, organised, approachable and happy working as part of a close-knit team.
