Job summary

One Way Resourcing in Cambridge is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial aspects of highway and civil projects. You will review site records, prepare payment applications and lead cost/value reporting, forecasts and cash flow planning.

The role involves procurement of sub-contracts and materials, plus strong liaison with clients and internal teams. You will be accountable for ensuring contractual entitlements are captured, payments are received on time and final accounts are settled

Qualifications

• Regular & diligent review / summary of site records, diaries, allocations to support payment claims.
• Prompt presentation of payment applications and contractual entitlements.
• Ensure payments are received per contract terms and correctly allocated.
• Prepare Monthly Cost/Value reconciliations and Final Cost/Value forecasts.
• Prepare forward work schedules and cash flows for projects.
• Procurement, negotiation and placement of Sub-contracts and materials orders.
• Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to final accounts.
• Ensure letters/notices and information comply with contract requirements.
• Provide commercial support to site, contracts management, estimating and procurement teams.
• Maintain close liaison with client on commercial matters.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contract letters, notices and information are delivered per requirements.
• Provide commercial support to site teams and to estimating and procurement groups.
• Liaise with client on key commercial matters and build relationships.

Job description

Quantity Surveyor required for leading civil engineering contractor in the Cambridge area. The Quantity Surveyor will be working on highways projects across areas 6 / 8.

The Quantity Surveyor will ideally come from a civil engineering or groundworks background. Quantity surveyors with project experience covering highways and drainage would be an advantage.

• Regular & diligent review / summary of site records / diary's / allocations & compilation to ensure timely and accurate presentation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc.
• Prompt presentation of applications for payment, including contractual entitlements.
• Ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms and correctly allocated with accounts department.
• Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost / Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts.
• Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows.
• Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract and materials orders.
• Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts.
• Ensuring that all contractual letters/ notices and information are presented in accordance with the contract requirements.
• Commercial support to the site and contracts management team.
• Commercial support to the Estimating and Procurement teams.
• Close liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information including building / maintaining relationships.
