Job summary

Henley Chase is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their civils and groundworks team in the Greater London area. You will manage projects commercially from procurement through to final account.

The role requires a strong background in civils or groundworks, with NEC and/or JCT contract experience, and proven ability to forecast costs, prepare valuations and negotiate with subcontractors. Offering a permanent position with a competitive package and clear opportunities for career

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as Quantity Surveyor within civils and groundworks.
  • Experience managing valuations, variations, subcontractors and final accounts.
  • Strong understanding of Civils, groundworks or enabling works.
  • Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
  • Ability to manage costs, budgets and forecasting.

  • Manage the commercial aspects of civils and groundworks projects.
  • Prepare and submit valuations, variations and payment applications.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and applications.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts.
  • Procure subcontractors and materials.
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Identify and manage variations and additional works.
  • Prepare and agree final accounts.
  • Monitor project performance against budget and produce cost forecasts.
  • Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors.
  • Ensure contractual and commercial obligations are maintained.
  • Support the wider commercial team with tendering and pricing.

Quantity Surveyor Civils & Groundworks
Salary: £60,000 £75,000 DOE
Job Type: Permanent
Start: ASAP

An established civil engineering and groundworks contractor is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civils, groundworks or enabling works, with the ability to manage projects commercially from procurement through to final account.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the commercial aspects of civils and groundworks projects.
  • Prepare and submit valuations, variations and payment applications.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and applications.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts.
  • Procure subcontractors and materials.
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Identify and manage variations and additional works.
  • Prepare and agree final accounts.
  • Monitor project performance against budget.Produce accurate commercial reports and cost forecasts.
  • Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors.
  • Ensure contractual and commercial obligations are maintained.
  • Support the wider commercial team with tendering and pricing where required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils and/or groundworks.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
  • Experience managing valuations, variations, subcontractors and final accounts.
  • Good understanding of project costs, budgets and forecasting.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with NEC and/or JCT contracts would be advantageous.
