Job summary

One Way Resourcing in Cambridge is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial aspects of highway and civil projects. You will review site records, prepare payment applications and lead cost/value reporting, forecasts and cash flow planning.

The role involves procurement of sub-contracts and materials, plus strong liaison with clients and internal teams. You will be accountable for ensuring contractual entitlements are captured, payments are received on time and final accounts are settled

Qualifications

• Regular & diligent review / summary of site records, diaries, allocations to support payment claims.
• Prompt presentation of payment applications and contractual entitlements.
• Ensure payments are received per contract terms and correctly allocated.
• Prepare Monthly Cost/Value reconciliations and Final Cost/Value forecasts.
• Prepare forward work schedules and cash flows for projects.
• Procurement, negotiation and placement of Sub-contracts and materials orders.
• Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to final accounts.
• Ensure letters/notices and information comply with contract requirements.
• Provide commercial support to site, contracts management, estimating and procurement teams.
• Maintain close liaison with client on commercial matters.

Responsibilities

• Review site records and compile documentation to support payments, variations and claims.
• Present timely payment applications and entitlements in accordance with contracts.
• Monitor and allocate payments with accounts department.
• Prepare cost/value reconciliations and forecasts for project reporting.
• Develop cash flows and forward work schedules for project planning.
• Procure and negotiate sub-contracts and material orders; manage supplier relationships.
• Oversee financial and commercial aspects of sub-contractors through final accounts.
• Ensure contract letters, notices and information are delivered per requirements.
• Provide commercial support to site teams and to estimating and procurement groups.
• Liaise with client on key commercial matters and build relationships.
