Job summary

Everson Recruitment seeks a Quantity Surveyor to support growth with civil engineering and earthworks clients. The role is based at the head offices in Caldicot with travel to live jobs across Wales and England.

You will handle tendering, cost control, procurement, and monthly cost reporting while working with management and clients. A degree in quantity surveying and several years of experience are preferred, along with strong software proficiency.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent in quantity surveying.
• Experience with NEC contracts and cost-reimbursable contracts.
• Strong written, numerical and communication skills.
• Ability to present to clients and internal teams with commercial awareness.
• Project management capabilities and understanding of engineering & construction principles.
• Proficiency with surveying software and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support cost and tender opportunities in civil engineering and earthworks.
• Tender management including site visits and scoping from plans and construction details.
• Monitor contract performance and implement cost-reduction measures.
• Procurement of Sub-Contractors, materials and plant.
• Manage risk, value engineering and cost-control.
• Calculate quantities and costs for materials, labour, and timeframes.
• Prepare monthly applications and cost reporting.

Quantity Surveyor: South Wales

I am seeking to employ a Quantity Surveyor to help support my client's growth aspirations during a targeted period of progress. For the right candidate, it's a great opportunity to work amongst flexible and dynamic operational team, along with long-term blue-chip utility and civil engineering clients.

This position will report into the Business Development Manager and work closely with the management team. The job will primarily be based at the company's head offices in Caldicot with travel requirements to upcoming & live jobs across Wales and England.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the cost and tender opportunities within both the civil engineering and earthworks sectors, working alongside operational management.
• Tender management to include site visits and to help scope the project whilst working with plans and construction details.
• Monitoring the performance of contracts while managing cost reduction solutions.
• Sub-Contractor, material, and plant procurement.
• Manage risk, value engineering and cost-control measures.
• Calculate quantities and cost for materials, labour, and timeframes.
• Monthly applications and cost reporting.

Job Skills & Requirements

• A degree or equivalent in quantity surveying, with ideal candidates having 5 years+ experience.
• Experience working with NEC contracts and other target costs or cost reimbursable contracts.
• Excellent written, numerical and communication skills.
• Ability to prepare and delivery presentations to clients and internal teams, with commercial awareness.
• Project management capabilities and understanding of engineering & construction principles.
• Proficiency with technology and surveying software.
• Strong excel capabilities and proficient in the use of Microsoft office, word, project, and power point, as well as AutoCad, LSS and other 3D modelling systems.
