Job summary

Cardiff-based multidisciplinary consultancy seeks a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Cardiff team. The role covers cost consultancy, Employer's Agent duties and full QS services on new-build, refurbishment and development projects across Wales.

The successful candidate will manage projects from inception to completion, maintain strong client relationships and generate fee income while operating as a strong fee earner. Hybrid working and a competitive package are on offer.

Qualifications

• The candidate should hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related RICS-accredited discipline.
• MRICS status, ideally, or significant progress toward chartership.
• Experience in consultancy-based Quantity Surveying and Employer's Agent duties.
• Strong commercial awareness, client development and fee-earning capability.
• Knowledge of Cardiff and wider Welsh property/construction market.
• Excellent contract administration, communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services across Wales.
• Undertake Employer's Agent duties and administer building contracts.
• Prepare cost plans, procurement advice, tenders, valuations and final accounts.
• Coordinate stakeholders and ensure schemes meet client requirements.
• Develop new business and opportunities to grow the Cardiff office.

An established multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy is seeking a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Cardiff team.

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have strong cost consultancy experience, proven Employer's Agent capabilities and a good understanding of the Welsh construction market. This position would suit an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor who can manage projects independently, generate fee income and develop lasting client relationships.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will deliver a range of new-build, refurbishment and development projects across Wales. Responsibilities will include providing pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services while also undertaking Employer's Agent duties.

The role will involve preparing cost plans, procurement advice, tender documentation, valuations, change control, financial reporting and final accounts. As Employer's Agent, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will administer building contracts, coordinate project stakeholders and ensure schemes are delivered in accordance with the client's requirements.

The successful candidate will be expected to operate as a strong fee earner, identify new opportunities and support the continued growth of the Cardiff office.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements

The Senior Quantity Surveyor should have:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related RICS-accredited discipline
• MRICS status, ideally, or significant progress towards chartership
• Proven consultancy-based Quantity Surveying experience
• Previous experience acting as Employer's Agent
• Experience delivering projects from inception through to completionStrong commercial awareness and fee-earning capability
• The ability to manage client relationships and develop new business
• Knowledge of the Cardiff and wider Welsh property and construction market
• Excellent contract administration, communication and reporting skills
• A base in Cardiff, South Wales or within a reasonable commuting distance
