Job summary

A precision engineering company in Atherton is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their QA team. This hands-on role involves approximately 80% inspection duties and 20% quality engineering responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience and be familiar with micrometers, gauges, and ISO9001 audits. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting parts to engineering drawings using precision tools.
  • Performing inspections and completing reports.
  • Reviewing customer drawings and issuing Notifications of Inspection.
  • Supporting NCR investigations and corrective actions.

Skills

Location : Atherton, Manchester

Salary : £48,000 – £52,000 per annum

Hours : Monday to Thursday 08 : 00–16 : 30, Friday 08 : 00–15 : 30

Job Type : Permanent / Full-Time

Overview

Due to continued growth, our client—a well-established precision engineering company—is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their QA team. This is a hands‑on role with approximately 80% inspection duties and 20% quality engineering responsibilities, ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with components, drawings, and measuring equipment while contributing to quality systems and audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspecting parts to engineering drawings using micrometers, bore gauges, depth gauges, verniers, and other precision tools
  • Performing Goods Inwards, Pre‑Paint, and Final Inspections
  • Completing dimensional reports and inspection documentation
  • Reviewing customer drawings and issuing Notifications of Inspection
  • Supporting NCR investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Assisting with ISO9001 audits and documentation control
  • Suggesting improvements to inspection and QA processes
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ hands‑on inspection experience
  • Familiarity with internal / external micrometers, gauges, and visual inspection
  • Exposure to ISO9001 audits and quality systems
  • Methodical, organised, and detail‑oriented
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
  • HND or equivalent experience in engineering or quality
