Job Description
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Inspector to join a busy quality team. The successful candidate will support the Quality and Production departments by carrying out chemical analysis, dimensional inspections, patrol checks, and final inspection of manufactured lead‑based parts. This role requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to produce accurate reports for internal and customer use, and flexibility to work both day and late shifts as operational needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection and Reporting : Perform internal chemical analysis of melts, check results against specifications, and generate material certificates. Carry out dimensional inspections using manual measuring tools (micrometres, digital calipers, protractors, radius gauges, rules, etc.). Record inspection results, generate reports, and maintain accurate records.
- Drawing Interpretation : Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure product compliance.
- Equipment Calibration : Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and in good working order.
- Non‑Conformances : Identify and report quality issues and non‑conforming parts. Support root cause analysis where required.
- Safety : Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment. Report near‑miss incidents and support continuous safety improvements.
- Continuous Improvement : Participate in initiatives to improve inspection processes and overall product quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
- Skills : Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Competent in manual measuring techniques. Knowledge of non‑conformance reporting advantageous. Awareness of calibration requirements advantageous. Excellent attention to detail and strong reporting skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Personal Attributes : Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work independently. Flexible and adaptable to work day or late shifts as required. Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments. Quality‑focused and professional in approach.
