Job summary

Safran Nacelles in Burnley is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to join our Composites team, ensuring aerospace components meet the highest quality, safety and compliance standards. You will inspect products, processes and documentation, identify non-conformances, and support a Stop at First Defect culture across the business.

Working with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality teams, you'll read engineering drawings, record results, review Batch Cards and quality notifications, and help

Qualifications

  • Must have a time-served apprenticeship in manufacturing.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience conducting visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Experience using inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to complete and review quality documentation and inspection reports.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of composite components.
  • Validate inspection activities against drawings, specifications and procedures.
  • Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation.
  • Identify, contain, and escalate non-conforming products.
  • Complete batch cards, quality notifications, PPAP, PVI and First Article reports.
  • Support QRQC reviews and continuous improvement activities.
  • Promote a Stop at First Defect mindset across the business.

Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams, you'll play a vital role in ensuring only fully compliant products reach our customers.Key Responsibilities- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of composite components.- Validate inspection activities against engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.- Record inspection results accurately and maintain quality documentation.- Identify, contain, and escalate non-conforming products.- Complete and review quality documentation including Batch Cards, QualityNotifications, PPAP, PVI, and First Article reports.- Support QRQC reviews and quality improvement activities.- Validate delivery documentation and inspection records.- Support QN reduction and continuous improvement projects.- Promote a \"Stop at First Defect\" mindset throughout the business.- Escalate product quality or safety concerns through the appropriate processes.Job RequirementsWhat you'll bringEssential- Time-served apprenticeship within a manufacturing environment.- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.- Experience conducting visual and dimensional inspections.- Experience using inspection and measurement equipment.- Ability to complete and review quality documentation and inspection reports.- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.Desirable Skills- Aerospace manufacturing experience.- Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, and PVI requirements.- MRB Delegation experience.- Regulatory Release delegation experience.- Knowledge of customer quality procedures and acceptance criteria.- Experience supporting QRQC and continuous improvement activitiesWe know that some candidates may be put off ing for jobs where they don't meet 100% of the criteria outlined in the advert.
