Job summary

Safran Nacelles in Burnley, England, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer – Sheet Metal to define and validate sheet metal processes within HSE, quality and budget requirements. You will ensure industrialization is mature and aligned with Safran standards, supporting ongoing excellence at the Burnley site.

The role involves cross-functional coordination, supplier guidance, and leading validation activities for new products and processes, with emphasis on cost control and safety.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sheet metal manufacturing within aerospace environments.
  • Knowledge of titanium, aluminium and steel materials used in aerospace.
  • Understanding of material heat treatment and transformations.
  • Lean/Six Sigma exposure is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Design and define sheet metal manufacturing processes within cost and spec constraints.
  • Create and validate standard work instructions, QC points and inspection methods.
  • Specify plant, equipment and tooling and prepare routes, BOMs, layouts and data sheets.
  • Ensure targets for quality, cost and delivery are met and coordinate cross-functional teams.
