Job summary

Animal and Plant Health Agency seeks a Quality Assurance Auditor and Advisor to support accreditations, certifications and regulatory compliance across plant, bee, and animal health domains. You will promote the quality management system, review documentation and drive continuous improvement.

You will plan internal and external audits, analyse findings, and advise on scope extensions and corrective actions. The role involves travel to various locations and site visits as required.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge and experience of quality standards and internal quality auditing.
• Trained internal auditor or willingness to undertake specialist training.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and clear reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Well organised, capable of independent work and prioritising tasks.
• Proactive, adaptable and able to drive continuous improvement.
• Understanding of operational fieldwork in animal health contexts.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver quality assurance audits across multiple work streams.
• Review non-conformances and procedural documentation; raise findings.
• Manage external audits and coordinate training, briefings, and staff forums.
• Monitor QA checks and compile quarterly performance for governance meetings.
• Identify risks and opportunities; advise on actions to maintain quality framework.
• Provide advice on accreditation scope extensions and quality system improvements.
